NSELE
Nsele Private Game Reserve is a 4,000 acre estate within South Africa's breathtaking Waterberg biosphere, 2.5 hours drive north of Johannesburg. The region is malaria free, which makes it an attractive destination for families looking to encounter the African bush without the very real dangers that are associated with many popular safari destinations and national parks.
Nsele’s completely private situation is its principal selling point - guests experience total exclusivity when hiring the property. Horse riding, walking, mountain, quad and dirt biking and fishing are just some of the experiences we offer on top of game viewing. Our new spa deck provides an ideal platform for wellness pursuits such as yoga and chi kung, and for a range of treatments including massages.
We don’t keep the Big Five at the reserve (although very shy leopard are sometimes heard but almost never seen) which makes it safe to explore on foot with our experienced guides Mei and Neil. There are no set programmes – you can be as lazy or as active as you want at Nsele. A day might take in a bush lunch under a fig tree, horse-riding across nearby wildlife plains and dinner at one of our hippo dams. Our more adventurous guests may also sleep out under the stars at our pop-up campsite.
